More than 10,000 people have enrolled in over 15 gisadvisor.com online courses.  The latest offering is a complete curriculum of 6 courses in free and open source software for geospatial (FOSS4g), called Learning the FOSS4g Stack, including instruction in QGIS, Postgres, Geoserver, and Python.

WORKSHOPS

Hundreds of students have attended gisadvisor.com full and half-day workshops in the United States and Europe.  The workshops, customized to each audience, include topics such as big data geoanalytics, Python programming for geospatial, Spatial SQL, and open source GIS.  

 

CONSULTING

Dozens of public and private  organizations have used gisadvisor.com consulting services to provide geospatial solutions.  Projects include geospatial programming support, application development, needs assessment, and database development.

I am a Professor in the Department of Geography and Geosciences at Salisbury University in Salisbury, Maryland.  Prior to joining the Salisbury faculty in 2007, I spent seven years at Cornell University as a Senior Lecturer and Senior Research Associate, where I won the Cornell University Faculty Innovation in Teaching Award, the North American Colleges and Teachers of Agriculture Teacher of Merit, and the prestigious State University of New York Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching.  You can see my University homepage here.
